Ten people have been killed in a violent attack in the central Mexican state of Puebla, according to local authorities. The incident took place at a farm in the municipality of Tehuitzingo, where an armed group reportedly opened fire.

Mexican newspaper El Universal reports that the victims included six men, three women, and one minor. Authorities believe the victims were members of the same family.

Police are investigating the possibility that the killings were linked to a domestic dispute, while security forces have launched a joint operation to locate those responsible.

The attack comes amid rising violence in Puebla, where gang related crime has increased in recent months. Federal data cited by El Universal shows that 70 murders were recorded in the state during April alone.
