Green Party MP Sian Berry has said those attempting to use Henry Nowak’s case to sow division between communities “deserve no place in public life”.
In a statement, Berry said the Green Party rejects “efforts to scapegoat the entire Sikh community for the actions of one individual”.
Her comments came after police confirmed two arrests following unrest in Southampton on Tuesday evening. Berry added that anyone seeking to exploit the tragedy to fuel violence, deepen tensions within communities, or advance political agendas was acting irresponsibly and had “no place in our public life”.
