Four people were killed Thursday morning after a small aircraft crashed near Ruidoso, officials said. Authorities have not determined the cause of the crash, according to Lincoln County Representative Jason Burns.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane departed from Roswell Air Center and was en route to Sierra Blanca Airport when the accident occurred.

Both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have launched an investigation.
